January meeting

We had busy day at our January meeting. Firstly, it was great to welcome some new members - we hope you'll come back! We had one of our Jacob's Join lunches which are always lovely. We were running mini workshops this month - monograms, Chinese thread keepers, playing with Tyvek and silk painting.

Mini workshops are lead by members of our branch and are always good fun, it's a way to share interests and skills. Those who didn't pick a workshop brought some stitching projects to work on.

We also started another round of Travelling Books!

Here's a taster of what we got up to:

Community Champions Award Shortlist

News in from our Chair!

I’m delighted to tell you that we have been short-listed for Craven Community Champions Award for Arts & Culture in recognition of our work on the “Where’s My Home” project. The awards ceremony will take place at the end of February but whatever the outcome, this is a great achievement and you should all be very proud of your work.

The map is still on going but looking great. Thanks to all the community groups and individuals who joined in. Fingers crossed for February!

Here's the link again to the animations we made, for the project, with Virpi Kettu https://youtu.be/sISzQnAJncM

Threads of Life. A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle.

A new book that looks really interesting! Clare Hunter's book will be Radio 4's Book of the Week 4th-8th Feb. Here's a sneaky peek. (click on the pictures and they should be easier to read!)
