About the Event: In 2017 Hull is the City of Culture. This exhibition celebrates three ships that sailed from Hull and is the work of Yorkshire members of the Embroiderers' Guild and the Quilters' Guild. The exhibition is in the Community Display Area of the museum.

TEXTILES - AN EXHIBITION OF NEW WORK BY TEXTILIA III (UK EXHIBITION):
About the Event: TEXTiles is an exhibition of work inspired by and responding to TEXTiles in many imaginative and intriguing ways. The artists have drawn inspiration from a variety of courses, including myths, legends and fairy tailes, poetry and literary works as well as shapes and patterns of tiles.
The exhibition features a variety of wall-hung work, 3D pieces and wearable art.

OVERGROUND - UNDERGROUND (EG MEMBER ORGANISED EVENT):
About the Event: Overground - Underground is an exhibition of creative textile art by "Diversity Creative Stitchers", some of whom are members of the Embroiderers' Guild Preston Branch. The gallery has free admission, plenty of parking, a puppet theatre, a vegetarian cafe serving delicious home cooked food and a small shop selling hand-crafted items.

BLACKPOOL BRANCH OF THE EMBROIDERERS' GUILD 35TH ANNIVERSARY EXHIBITION (EG BRANCH EVENT):
About the Event: A celebration of the work by members of the Blackpool branch including recent community and group projects. There will also be a sales table and drop-in stitch sessions.

STITCHING HEAVEN (UK EXHIBITION):
About the Event: An exhibition of the work of the East Yorkshire Embroidery Society will be held at the Beverley Minster. Items displayed will include quilts, embroideries and textile art. There will also be "Flags of Hope" and entries to the members' "Heavens Above" competition. Some items will be for sale and visitors will be encouraged to vote for their favourite item.

NEW QUILTING AT RHEGED CENTRE, PENRITH (UK EXHIBITION):
About the Event: This new exhibition will challenge the perceptions of quilt making, revealing a strong and vibrant contemporary craft form that is just as likely to be found hanging on a gallery wall or urban loft apartment as it is covering a bed in a rural farmhouse. Quilts by national and Cumbrian makers have been selected for the quality of the craftsmanship and design, the use of colour and an innovative approach. The unique story behind each piece will also be told in the exhibition, either through accompanying sketches and material revealing how each quilt came to be, or through the storytelling ability of the quilt itself. The Exhibition includes some quilts from the Hellbeck Collection, bykind permission of Charles Blackett-Ord and a special collaboration piece by Maddi Nicholson and some members of the Levens Quilters. There are also many workshops on embroidery, knitting, crochet, sashiko and needlefelt. Supported using public funding by Arts Council England.Opening Times/Charges/Phone:
