September Newsletter

September 2019 Newsletter
Hello
I hope you’ve had a relaxing holiday and are ready to return with new ideas and inspiration. It would be lovely to see some of the things you’ve completed, collected or visited over Summer, so please bring them along to the meeting and share them with everyone. This includes the last round of Travelling Books.
Our September meeting will be very busy as it is our AGM and of course time to renew Guild and Branch membership. I am pleased to report that membership fees remain the same as 2018, that is to say, Skipton Branch members pay £48.00 and for members of another branch the fee is £10.00. Payment by cash or cheque made payable to Skipton Embroiderers’ Guild either on the day or by post to:
Jane Filby, 2 The Orangery, Carleton Road, Skipton, BD23 2BE.
Helen Barnes is leading a workshop based on Charlotte Brontë’s stitch-sampler needlecase during the September meeting 10am-12 noon. Just bring a basic sewing kit and a selection of threads. There are still a few places available and if you would like to attend please let me know.
We will be having our customary Jacob’s Join Lunch at midday. Bring something savoury or sweet, the choice is yours. It is always delicious!
The AGM will take place at 1:30pm. Could you serve on the Committee? We are looking for new people to bring fresh ideas and to continue the work of the Branch. Nominations can be made either in advance or on the day.
We have a different location and a bigger pen at this year’s Yarndale show (28th-29th September). We will be displaying our community work and offering a drop-in workshop. Jane Filby is coordinating our exhibition and if you are able to help with set-up or on the stand on either of the two days, there will be a sign-up sheet at the meeting.
