All wrapped up

Jackie Martin wowed us at our October meeting with an amazing array of quilts, boxes, pictures and samples galore!  These award-winning pieces were created with a love of fabric and an eye for colour using machine applique and hand quilting.

Quilt detail
Jackie says she was taught to sew at 4 years old and hasn't stopped since.  She has been a member of the Guild for over 40 years, firstly in Bolton and more recently joining Skipton Branch.  Her lifetime of creativity and delight in fabric was evident in the wide selection of things she brought to show us.  We were told these were just the best as many quilts were given away to family and friends when she down-sized and relocated to Yorkshire.

Ingenious use of scrap fabric
Leaving no scrap of fabric unused, even small strips of fabric were turned into engineered bowls using garden twine and her trusty sewing machine.
